Hard to be Humble

My celebrity rant of the week: I hugely respect John Mayer as a song writer (a kudos I reserve for maybe three or four other all-time musicians) so I can only shake my head at his impromptu press conference over the weekend to open up about his break-up with Jennifer Aniston. “There's no lying, there's no cheating, there's no nothing.” Well done John and Jen for not cheating during your four month relationship. Mayer reportedly added: “Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I have ever met.” Let’s see, his previous girlfriends include Cameron Diaz and Jessica Simpson (who was reportedly quoted asking “How did you guys run so slowly in the show's opening scene (of Baywatch)? You know, where you're running down the beach?”

According to MSNBC, Jen’s camp claims that not only was the self-professed anti-paparazzi pop star apparently tipping off the enemy about his and Aniston’s whereabouts, he also was a bit of a tight wad. “Jen was tired of paying for everything," said another source close to Aniston. “Cobwebs come flying out of (Mayer's) wallet when he opens it. John liked living like a movie star when he was with her. ... Jen would never say anything, but you could tell it irritated her.”

Well Jen, I’ve found a man for you who’s willing to dig deep in to his pockets for his woman. Phil Collin’s has just paid his third wife £25 million in their divorce - the highest ever settlement in the UK - to a woman he’s been married to for ... SIX YEARS. In fact, he has had to dole out nearly one third of his nearly £140 million fortune for his three divorces. A class act, I’d say, and An Easy Lover. Although she’s probably suggest they just be Friends.
