SAT? Connais pas! Print
Written by Riviera Reporter

This feature has largely assumed that local candidates will have been in one of our international schools. But what of pupils who are in the French system? They will have benefited from the usually high academic standards of the lycée but there are notable disadvantages in their situation.

- Their English (especially written) may be not totally adequate to allow them to perform well in the SAT and other tests. Their math syllabus, too, may not match with the US model.

- The often rigidly academic culture of the lycée may not have enabled them to develop and display that “well-roundedness” that admissions officers in many good schools look for.

- It is highly unlikely that any of the faculty in their lycée will be able to offer them useful advice on getting into College USA.
