If You've Got a Latvian Pet Friend It's Good News Print
Written by Riviera Reporter

We’re now paying 53¢ for a standard letter sent within France. But watch out – you now have to pay 2¢ more if it’s destined for an address elsewhere in the EU. So nobody gets hassled over postage due make sure you’ve put on one of the new blue 55¢ stamps.

Good news, though, if you’ve got a pen friend outside the old EU area. If you’re mailing to any of the ten new member states you pay just 55¢ – that’s 20¢ less than before they joined. La Poste points out that its standard domestic rate is the cheapest within the EU (compare the UK at 61¢ equivalent and Denmark at 81¢).
