Still Muddled with Euromoney Print
Written by Riviera Reporter

Three years and more on surely everyone’s at ease with the euro. Actually not. A recent study showed that 58% of the French still have “some” or “a lot of” difficulty with the new currency, especially where larger sums are concerned; older people have more trouble than younger, and women more than men.

Finally, if you’ve still got a stash of franc coins in a jam jar it’s now too late to change them into euros. But before dumping them – or putting them in a sock as a weapon against burglars – do check that none of those pieces has a value to collectors. A 1 franc piece dated 1960, for example, could sell for €35! For current values see www.lefranc.net
