No: Scam-Share…
My heart sinks when, as regularly happens, people write to me about
money-making propositions they’ve been sent from Nigeria or a mess
they’ve got into with a time-share scheme, as is the case with Oivind
in Plascassier. As most people know, time-share involves buying the
right to live in a property in some agreeable destination—the Canary
Islands, Morocco, Cyprus, where have you—for one or more weeks a year
over a certain period. Sounds fine and some offers are honest. Others
aren’t—although all are sold by high-pressure methods. Often things
turn out badly: you make your entry payment and then you find annual
charges get slapped on at a frightening level; you try to sell back
your share but this proves difficult or only possible at a highly
disadvantageous price. My advice is without qualification: beware of
time-share!
