His son the artist

"Angry Dad" in Le Cannet says his 15-year old son was arrested with two other lads while out "tagging" in a neighbouring town. He's been presented - dad, that is - with a hefty bill by the owner of the shop the boys were "decorating". Is this right?

Absolutely. Parents are responsible for damage of this kind wilfully caused by their kids. The anger is understandable, though. I hope dad gets his son to grasp that yobbish behaviour of this kind is totally unacceptable. In my view, "taggers" should be forced to clean up their own mess, preferably on a very cold day or in sweltering heat.
