Old Banknotes Print

Old money

FYI: People sometimes get excited when they come across old banknotes. Well, as from December 31st last French billets de banque which ceased to be legal tender on January 1st, 1994 can no longer be exchanged at the Banque de France. You can always try a numismatist's shop. Some are valuable but there are still millions of francs of old money out there. If you want to keep it, you could paper the loo with Corneille and Voltaire or post it off to one of those Nigerian scam-artists who might get seriously confused. More recent franc notes, though, such as we were using until the euro came in, can be exchanged until 2012.
