Let’s start with a few questions. Struggling with a busy personal life
or trying to keep your small business affairs in order? Spend much of
your day on the Internet? Travel a lot and want to consult meeting
schedules and personal or business phone numbers from any computer? If
you answered yes to any of the above, Zoubly (www.zoubly.com) will be a
handy addition to your Internet arsenal.
Whatzat?
Put simply, behind an attractive and user-friendly
interface, Zoubly is a handy online diary, address book, meetings
scheduler and to-do list. The advantage of Zoubly is that it reminds
you of special dates and birthdays with enough advance notice to be
able send a card or buy a gift. All Zoubly’s functions are interrelated
and closely linked to the contact names and numbers you enter into its
secure contacts database.
Howzat?
Initially you sign on
with a username and password of your choice. You choose between French
or English interface and Zoubly will remember your preferred language
for future visits. Start by entering a few names and addresses into the
“My Contacts” section. You can also choose to inform your contact that
you’ve added him and by ticking the “Request further details” box you
allow him to correct his entry directly. He can then revise his own
contact information but he cannot access any other part of your diary
or contacts. These remains confidential and can only be accessed by
you. Names, numbers or addresses in your contact list can easily be
found alphabetically or by a keyword search.
Whenzit?
Use the
“Meetings” option to enter any date or time-related event you wish. You
can opt to adjoin an existing person from your contact list so that his
details are at hand or you can enter a temporary contact on-the-fly. If
you wish, you can also choose to send an email to remind that person of
the event. Zoubly will also store a prioritised to-do list where you
can enter tasks, rate their importance and delete them once they’re
done. When you log in to Zoubly it will show you a monthly calendar on
the left side (see picture) with the current date chosen. Any meeting
dates or birthdays you’ve entered are indicated by a colour overlay of
the date. Official French holidays are also indicated. Already slick,
complete and extremely easy to use, Zoubly promises some additional
features in the future. Watch this space.
