All in the family

Keeping the kids amused at weekends and on holidays can be a problem. Helen Misseri has some answers

Across the last three years Helen Misseri has co-edited Le Curieux, offering suggestions to parents about ways of occupying their children at weekends and during holidays.

Says Helen, “Le Curieux was appreciated but it was limited rather to Monaco and the area roundabout. I realised there was need for something broader in scope and so I’m launching Family First, that’s a guide – online and in print – offering a wide range of ideas, some original and rather unexpected, to those who want to get the most out of our region en famille.”

But what’s Helen’s interest in such a project? “It’s very personal. I was actually born in Ghana where my father was working. I grew up on Merseyside and then went to Hull University where I met my niçois husband. We settled on the Coast thirteen years ago. We’ve got two young boys and I know that keeping children occupied and amused isn’t easy. The aim of Family First is to give access to information about places you can take the kids and things they can do here. You can’t always find what you want by casual surfing. There’s also a section of practical information on topics like education and health. I want to be interactive – to hear from people who’ve used Family First and who’ve maybe got ideas of their own to add.”
