Women Drivers better than Men

We noted recently that – in France at least – women have been found to be better drivers than men. But what about this? A paper in the American Journal of Psychology has argued, on the basis of thirty years of international statistics, that women are more likely to have accidents on Friday the 13th. The writer suggests that this is because they are more superstitious than men and on that inauspicious day get worried and nervous at the wheel. So make a note: if you go out on the second Friday of August 2006, don’t let the wife drive!
