Yellow Safety Vest

- I warned not long ago about the new Italian rule that drivers must carry a yellow reflecting jacket in case they need to get of their car by the roadside. A reader has written to say he’d been fined for not having the required item. Now the same rule is being applied in Austria and Spain and other countries may follow. In fact, in different places other things are supposed to be carried, ranging from first-aid kits, spare headlight bulbs and spare spectacles. So watch out – and have a look at the list at www.theaa.com.
